Back from ALA 09, yo! It was awesome! It was me, ~Riku-stalker, and her buddy who I met the day we left for the hotel. We got a room as soon as we got there (though we entered from the wrong entrance, so we had to go through the con before we got to the hotel registration. Riku-stalker's parents got down with us to help us get the room. With all the animetards and cosplayers around, they were horrified, to say the least xD), and it happened to be conveniently on the lobby floor :woot:! So we never had to wait for a crowded elevator. Plus, the room was all the way straight down the hall, so there was really no noise to disturb our sleep (except for the one room across from us), and it was a slightly bigger room so we were able to spread out and enjoy .

It was our buddies first anime con, so she was a little overwhelmed at first . And she was sick, so it's not like we could run around (as I'm used to doing when the situation calls for it). Turns out, I got a killer sore throat Friday night and didn't sleep very well . It bugged me a little Saturday and I felt slightly feverish at times, but I was ok because riku-stalker brought Tylenol and gave me some vitamin c fizzy drink thing (thanks buddy!). I also forced my self to drink tea (or as I call it, leaf juice). Seriously, who thought it was a good idea to put leafs in water and drink it? Bleh! Nasty stuff. I even tried putting in sugar and honey, but that pretty much didn't help it AT ALL.

Anyway, here's the run down of the highlights for the con...


FRIDAY - First day! Woot! We missed the opening ceremonies, but that's ok. We hit the artists alley first. Many things were commissioned throughout the weekend. MANY. recognized me from ALA 08 and AnimeExpo 08! She draws beautifully . The majority of my friends commissions went her way lol.

We went to Derek Stephen Prince's panel. Before it started we got to talk with him and had him say a line from one riku-stalker's comic's lol. ("He was just wondering the fields!") It's hard to explain, you'd have to read the comic .

We went to the AMV's for a bit, mostly anticipating the comedy category. I laughed so hard last year! This year was not so great. I laughed a little on like...1 or 2, but for the most part I was unimpressed. The last thing on our schedule was the Eyeshine(VA Johnny Yong Bosch and his band)concert. I finally got to buy their CD!!! I've been waiting since September Dx. We ate at the Con Suite then retired to our room. Didn't go to bed til 2 in the morning though! Lots of drawings were produced by ~Riku-stalker. I doubt she'll put any of them up though.


SATURDAY - I ALMOST DIED. I wook up at 6 in the morning because my throat was killing me DX. So for 2 hours I laid in bed listening to my Zune (his name is Neku btw :> ). At 8 I was starving so I quickly put on a jacket and jeans an went exploring on my own while the others slept (they didn't even know I had left and come back D: lol). Friday we had failed to find the Con Suite (free food!) so I set a goal to find it. Well whaddya know! I found it on my own :/. They didn't open til 10 though so I walked around a little more then went back to properly prepare for the day. I had time, so I curled my hair (VERY important, little did I know...)After everyone woke up and got ready, we went to eat breakfast at the con suite.

I couldn't wait for VA Johnny Yong Bosch's panel! Turns out we were late (HOW DID THAT HAPPEN) and had to sit a good distance off to the side . Turns out Johnny had a bad morning too with the con staff, which is really not cool of the staff considering he was the guest of honor! Anyway, I recorded what I could of the panel (and will upload to youtube as soon as possible). do to the incident Johnny ran into earlier, he had to cancel his acoustic concert, so we had it in the hall instead . Then it was signing time! THE LINE WAS RIDICULOUS. But that's ok, I usually don't mind. Johnny was singing and playing guitar for people in the front and I thought, "No fair ;A;!". Turns out when it was my turn to get a signature, I got a song ! I had him sign the CD I bought the day before and JOHNNY SANG ME A SONG ! I SO didn't see it coming! He asked how to pronounce my name then BAM! Song time! Basically it was about how he appreciated the support and for me waiting in the ridiculous line and that I HAD REALLY PRETTY AND SHINY HAIR! OMG Johnny Yong Bosch said my hair was pretty ! I was so nervous the whole time he was singing to me lol. Then I showed him the pic I drew of one of his characters to sign, he thought it was awesome and I got a hug .

I forget what we did between then, but then it was time for the masquerade! We ended up having to wait outside D:. It was cold! We waited for almost 2 hours because of technical difficulties >_<. Me and my friend were sick mind you! The good that came out of it was we made some friends with the people sitting next to us . BUT WE WERE STARVING. So riku-stalker stayed behind and we left for the con suite to get some food. Turns out the line decided to move while we were gone. Typical! How were we supposed to sit together now? But because of my ninja skills we got in and found her no problem :woot:. I'm so sneaky lol.

Anyways, the masquerade pretty much failed at life. I did enjoy watching the winning AMV from the pro division we missed on Friday. BE A MAN! lol, I was singing along to the song then realized so was the ENTIRE ROOM. Oh Mulan, you never get old lol.
