Oh my gosh! Johnny Bosch! + Commissions

Mon Sep 22, 2008, 7:30 AM
SO! I just came back from Mikomicon this past weekend. On Saturday, I got to meet Johnny Bosch ! For those of you who don't know, he's the VA for Vash the Stampede in Trigun, Kiba in Wolf's Rain, Claus in Lastexile, Lelouch in Code Geass, and Ichigo in Bleach, among others.

Anyway, I drew something for him to sign! And he liked it! Told me to rock on :D. His panel was great ( ~Riku-stalker's first panel, she was so excited!), I got it all on camera, albeit the first 10 minutes probably. Don't know why I didn't think of filming the panel in the first place. He's sooooo funny! His gestures are great too! Anyway, I'll put the link to my youtube when I get the videos up. I also got some vids of his band Eyeshine. I went to their concert. SO AWESOME! I wish I could have bought a CD, but I didn't have enough money...at least not if I wanted to eat any food that day. But I wanted that CD so bad! Next time though!

I also got to meet Kyle Herbert. I saw him at AnimeLA but didn't get that much of a chance to talk to him. My favorite character of his is Kiba from Naruto. He ended up eating lunch with us Saturday :D! How awesome is that?! And I love how he makes Kiba a bit G status lol. Arf, arf, yo! :XD:

Anyways, 2 great guys. Can't wait to see them again at next years AnimeLA.

I got signatures from all the voice actors there, including Robert Axelrod (Armadillomon and Wizardmon among others :D), a lady whose name I forgot (sorry!) and Erika Weinstein. Erika is soooo nice, and pretty! I told her that and she said I had great hair 8D. Which is what she wrote down before I had said anything. I didn't know until she told me she did because I didn't read it right away. Anyway, she told me my hair was the first thing she noticed when I walked in the room. AWESOME! I'm excited about the game she's in called The Last Remnant by SquareEnix. I must go learn more about it! What sucks though, is I wanted a pic with her but I didn't think about it till it was too late D:.

I also got pics of some great cosplayers. Including some hot ones :D. Don't know how to show you here though.

AND HEY CHECK OUT MAH PEOPLES! They're good buddies of mine and need some exposure. So check 'em out!

Thats great that you got to do all that!!! Totally lucky!! I've never been to any of the LA conventions... Only to the little Sacramento one..
I wanna go sometime thooo!!! I don't actually pay attention to the actors on animes really.. (I should actually try reading stuff like that up tho)
:DD
:iconquiksilver04:
lol I've always read the credits. Since I was like, 10 xD. So I've had a long run obsession with VA's lol. Then I discovered Wikipedia and voila, the fangirl you see today.

The con I went to wasn't a big one. It was probably the smallest I've been to. But there were some people there that I recognized from AnimeLA the con I went to in January. Which was, btw, the BEST con I'd been to.

I'm very inexpensive and you'd REALLY be helping me out a lot !
:iconmiakalin:
Oh I see. I've never payed attention to stuff like that. I probably should. (people always talk about the different actors and actresses, but I never know who they're talking about. altho my brother knows them.)

Anime LA is really good huh? I heard Expo is really good. Which one do you like better? Expo is in LA isn't it? I wanna go sometime, but I don't have any friends to go with or anyone to stay with in LA, cause none of my family lives there!!! I wish one of them did!!! My aunt lives in Frisco tho. Only like my aunt, and some family members that my dad hates, lives here in cali. Most of my family lives on the east coast tho. And other countries too.
:iconquiksilver04:
Yup! It was super great! On top of everything, they have a con suite (free snack foods) so you have more money to spend on anime stuffs instead of food! S'how I survived the whole entirety of the weekend on the dollar menu. I probably spent like, 5 bucks on food in 3 days. Also, there's enough people to keep it interesting, but not so many that you get lost.

Well, AnimeExpo is certainly the BIGGEST. Biggest con in the nation to be exact. There's over 33,000 who attend, and I personally feel that's too much. I don't like it mainly because I'm fond of my voice actors and at big cons, you don't really get a chance to interact with them. You wait in really long lines, get signed and go. You can't really get a word in unles the VA's nice enough to stick around even when their signing is over. Even then there's loads of people always trying to cut in. :shakefist:

Expo's good for people who have money to spend (HUGE dealer hall!)and (depending where it's held) have a car. Not good for people who get lost or overwhelmed easily. I'm not very fond of Expo myself ever since I went to it this year in LA. I HATE LA. For multiple reasons, especially since I went to Expo there. I enjoyed Expo in Long Beach though. Unfortunately they are holding it in LA again next year. Which is a terrible convention center. Too big. Especially if your traveling on foot. The food is EXTREMELY expensive ($4 for a hot dog?!). Any food outside the LA convention center is far away, and walking in the heat is never ideal. I would only go if there was a special occasion or something. I'd still go if I had a little help.

Oh thats sounds awesome!!! I'd love to go there!!! (Maybe I could go to LA for vacation this next summer.)

Oh I see. Thats too bad. I'd love to go to one that bigger, but not too big. (I get nervous in big crowds!!! XO)

Oh that does sound frustrating. I'd hate to buy any kinda food at a place like that thats too much money. I don't like buying food at places like that, cause usually people get sick from the food, and then they overcharge!!! :O
(plus I hate hot dogs.) I live in an area where it gets extremely warm in the summer, but down in LA it gets humid too tho. (doesn't it??? Or is that only around Palms Springs.. I don't know)
I'd love to go, but I just live too far. I live near Sacromento, so I normally go to Sac anime. Its gotten a lot bigger I heard.
:iconquiksilver04:
but anime la is in January. Expo's during the summer. Mmm, la's not too humid, usually. I wanted to go to Sac anime earlier this year! I wanted to meet Travis willingham at a con that wasn't as huge as expo. my friend is going to college up there near sacramento, so maybe if get to stay there with her I can go to sac anime next time. I dunno.

Heeeey then I could see you next anime convention, cause I'm going next time too!!! :DD
:iconquiksilver04:
Yeah that'd be awesome! I'd love to meet you! I don't really think I'd be able to travel all the way up there, but I dunno. I've been up there only once before. Like I said, I'd have to talk to my friend and also have the money. When is it gonna be anyway?
